Eight years ago today Barrie attended the wedding of his eldest daughter Paula to Robert Wrightson. In two weeks following he would attend that of his youngest son, Peter to Lucy Atkinson. Both occasions were happy days with the family gathering. Within a few months the family would gather again, to attend Barrie's funeral.
